KNUST Indefinitely Postpones Re-Opening for 2026/2027 Academic Year

The management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has indefinitely postponed the re-opening of the university for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The re-opening was originally scheduled for 13 October 2026.

In a statement dated 9 October 2026 and signed by Deputy Registrar Dr Daniel Norris Bekoe on behalf of the Registrar, the University Management said the decision had become necessary because of the ongoing strike action by the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) and its impact on the university’s effective operations and administration.

Students, parents, guardians and all other stakeholders have been advised to take note of the development.

The University Management said it would provide further updates on the revised re-opening date in due course.

Management regretted any inconvenience the postponement may cause and appreciated the understanding and cooperation of all stakeholders.
