King Faisal Owner Accuses GFA of Withholding GH¢10,000, Says Delay Hurts Club Preparations

Alhaji Karim Grusah, owner of King Faisal Football Club, has publicly accused the Ghana Football Association (GFA) of failing to pay the club GH¢10,000 owed from the previous football season, claiming the delay is severely affecting the team’s preparations.
In an interview with Gideon Okyere Anim (popularly known as Gattuso) on Original TV, the outspoken football administrator expressed deep frustration over the GFA’s refusal to release the outstanding funds.
According to Alhaji Grusah, the unpaid amount is part of sponsorship monies allocated for clubs competing in the National Division One League, which he alleges have not been fully disbursed by the football governing body.
He stated that the delay has placed significant financial strain on King Faisal, making it difficult for the club to plan effectively, manage player welfare, and make necessary logistical arrangements for competitive matches.
Alhaji Grusah further claimed that King Faisal is not alone in this situation, alleging that several other Division One League clubs are also yet to receive their full sponsorship entitlements from the GFA.
He called on the Ghana Football Association to urgently address the issue, stressing that lower-tier clubs heavily rely on these funds to survive and remain competitive within Ghana’s domestic football structure.
The GFA has not yet issued an official response to the allegations at the time of this report. The matter has reignited discussions about timely disbursement of funds and financial support for clubs outside the Premier League.
