Kennedy Agyapong Campaign Confident of Victory in NPP Flagbearer Race

Dr Kwaku Adu Boahene, a senior member of the Kennedy Ohene Agyapong campaign team, has expressed strong confidence that the former Assin Central MP will emerge as the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the close of polls on January 31, 2026.

Speaking on Channel One Newsroom on Friday, January 23, Dr Boahene said he was fully assured that Mr Agyapong would win the contest, stressing that the party and the country were at a stage where a particular kind of leadership was required.

“All the five are qualified to lead the party, but every era comes with the sort of leadership everybody envisions,” he said. “At the moment, what Ghanaians are calling for is a disciplined person, an honest person, a person that is principled.”

Dr Boahene described Kennedy Ohene Agyapong as a disciplined and honest individual who delivers results, noting that these qualities set him apart in the race.

“This is a man that has Ghanaians at heart,” he added.

He further portrayed the former Assin Central MP as an achiever and a doer who has consistently demonstrated commitment to the welfare of ordinary Ghanaians.

The New Patriotic Party is expected to elect its flagbearer at the end of January, as the party prepares for the next general election. Dr Boahene’s remarks underscore the Agyapong camp’s belief in the former MP’s ability to unite the party and deliver the disciplined leadership needed to win power in 2028.
