Kasoa Police Arrest Four Staff of Dr. Amagashie Herbal Clinic for Allegedly Diverting GH₵5 Million Patients’ Funds

The Kasoa Police Command in the Central Region has arrested four workers of Dr. Amagashie Herbal Clinic over their alleged involvement in a GH₵5 million fraud scheme at the facility.

The suspects are accused of illegally diverting funds paid by patients into unauthorized accounts for their personal benefit, causing significant financial loss to the herbal clinic.

According to police sources, the four suspects are expected to appear before the Kasoa Circuit Court on Friday, June 12, 2026, to answer charges relating to fraud and financial misconduct.

Speaking to journalists during the arrest, the Chief Executive Officer of the clinic, Apostle Dr. Samuel Amagashie, disclosed that investigations uncovered an alleged fraudulent system operated by the suspects through the creation of separate patient record accounts outside the official accounting structure of the clinic.

He explained that monies paid by patients who visited the facility for treatment were allegedly diverted into these unauthorized accounts instead of being deposited into the clinic’s official accounts.

Apostle Dr. Amagashie described the incident as unfortunate and deeply worrying, stressing that such dishonest practices negatively affect businesses and undermine efforts by entrepreneurs who invest resources to create employment opportunities for young people.

According to him, acts of fraud and financial impropriety discourage business expansion and weaken investor confidence in the country’s private sector

He therefore advised the youth to desist from fraudulent activities and rather uphold integrity, honesty and professionalism in their workplaces.

“Many business owners are making sacrifices to create jobs and support livelihoods. When workers engage in fraudulent acts, it discourages investment and affects the growth of businesses,” he stated.

Despite the incident, Apostle Dr. Amagashie encouraged individuals and organizations with the capacity to establish businesses and create employment opportunities not to relent in their efforts toward national development.

The Kasoa Police Command has assured the public that investigations into the matter are ongoing as the suspects prepare to face prosecution before the court.
