Joachim Löw Set to Become Black Stars Head Coach for 2026 World Cup – €150,000 Monthly Salary on Short-Term Deal

Former Germany manager Joachim Löw is on the brink of being appointed as the new head coach of Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, with negotiations nearing completion.

Sources close to the process indicate that Löw, who famously led Germany to victory at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, will earn a substantial €150,000 per month on a short-term contract specifically designed to guide Ghana through the 2026 World Cup in North America.

The 63-year-old tactician brings more than two decades of high-level international coaching experience. His tactical acumen, leadership, and proven ability to manage top talents are expected to provide the stability and direction the Black Stars desperately need after a series of disappointing friendly results under Otto Addo.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has been under intense pressure to secure a high-calibre coach following Addo’s departure. Löw’s imminent appointment is viewed as a significant boost for Ghanaian football, potentially revitalising the team ahead of a challenging group stage that includes formidable opponents such as England, Croatia, and Panama.

Ghana’s opening match at the 2026 World Cup is scheduled for June 17 in Toronto against Panama, leaving the team with just over two months to prepare under the new coach.

The GFA is expected to make an official announcement in the coming days once personal terms and contract details are finalised.

This move marks one of the most high-profile coaching appointments in recent Ghanaian football history and signals the association’s determination to elevate the Black Stars’ performance on the global stage.
