Interior Minister Clarifies Security Recruitment Aptitude Tests Were Not AI-Managed

Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak has clarified that the aptitude tests conducted as part of the ongoing security services recruitment exercise were not managed by artificial intelligence.

His clarification follows widespread public discussion and parliamentary comments suggesting that artificial intelligence had been used to conduct or supervise the testing process.

According to the Interior Minister, the characterization of the aptitude tests as AI-managed is inaccurate. He explained that while technology may have been used in aspects of the recruitment process, the tests themselves were not administered or controlled by artificial intelligence systems.

The clarification comes amid heightened public interest in the transparency and fairness of recruitment into Ghana’s security services, which include the Police Service, Immigration Service, Fire Service and other agencies under the Ministry of the Interior.

Observers say the minister’s remarks are intended to correct misconceptions surrounding the recruitment process and reassure the public that the procedures remain properly supervised.

The Ministry of the Interior has in recent years sought to strengthen recruitment systems to ensure that qualified applicants are selected while maintaining transparency and accountability in the process.
