Inflation Drops to 6.3% in November – Finance Minister Hails “Real, Measurable Progress”

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has welcomed the latest inflation figures, calling the eleventh consecutive monthly decline a clear sign of economic stabilization.

Inflation fell to 6.3% in November 2025 — the lowest since the 2021 rebasing — down from 7.0% in October, according to data from the Ghana Statistical Service.

“This is real, measurable progress!” Dr. Forson declared.

Food Inflation Sees Sharpest Drop

The Minister highlighted relief in household budgets, with food inflation plunging from 9.5% to 6.6% — the most significant improvement.

“I am especially delighted by the sharp fall in food inflation. This will bring real relief to families across the country,” he said.

Broad-Based Price Relief

The gains were not limited to food:

Local inflation: 8.0% → 6.8%

Imported inflation: 7.8% → 5.0%

“Price pressures are easing across the board,” Dr. Forson noted.

Analysts: Stability Within Reach

Economic analysts say the sustained downward trend strengthens the outlook for:

Lower interest rates

Improved business confidence

Greater purchasing power

The drop comes amid ongoing fiscal reforms, tight monetary policy, and stabilizing global commodity prices.

Dr. Forson credited the Mahama administration’s prudent economic management for the turnaround, signaling more gains ahead.
