The promotions, effective January 5, 2026, honor contributions to intercepting illegal arms and thwarting a planned highway robbery syndicate over the Christmas period.

In the first operation at Kantanso Asankare Police Barrier, officers seized 2,600 rounds of AK-47 ammunition from a bus, along with two bulletproof plates, a black helmet, and long boots hidden under the driver’s seat.

The second involved 20 officers from Ashanti and Ashanti South Commands who, acting on intelligence, dismantled a robbery gang along Antoakrom–Manso Nkwanta, recovering firearms and ammunition to avert attacks on commuters.
