Hearts of Oak Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare: “Anyone Can Still Win the League” After Kotoko Victory

Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare insists the Phobians remain firmly in the race for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title following their crucial 1-0 win over arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in Sunday’s Super Clash at Baba Yara Stadium.

A first-half header from Baba Adamu proved decisive in the tightly contested match, handing Hearts a vital three points and moving them closer to league leaders Medeama SC.

Reflecting on the victory and the title race, Asare expressed strong confidence in his side’s chances.

“Yes, anyone can still win it. If you look at the top four or five teams, it’s all about determination on the field. If we continue to win our matches, we have a great chance,” he said.

“Winning the league would be a huge opportunity for us, and I believe most of the players deserve it. This win today will help us be more aggressive and focused in our upcoming matches,” Asare added.

The result lifts Hearts of Oak to third place on the league table with 39 points. They will look to maintain momentum when they host Berekum Chelsea on Matchday 23 at the University of Ghana Stadium.

As the season enters its decisive phase, Hearts remain one of the strongest contenders in what is shaping up to be a fiercely competitive title race.
