Gospel Star Edward Akwasi Boateng in Court Battle Over House Ownership with Estranged Wife

Veteran Ghanaian gospel musician Edward Akwasi Boateng is facing a tough legal fight with his estranged wife, Genevieve Osei Boateng. She wants 50% of his Kumasi house, but he says it was all built from his music money.
The couple married in 1999 and have four children. They have been apart for almost five years. The case is at Donyina Circuit Court. Genevieve filed for divorce and claims the house was bought during their marriage. She also wants custody of the kids.
In a recent YouTube video, Akwasi Boateng shared his shock. He says the house came from his hit song “Ade Mepe” and years of music work. He claims Genevieve gave no money for it.
He listed what he did for her: paid for her trips abroad, got her a UK passport, and bought her cars.
To make it worse, Akwasi Boateng says Genevieve built her own house while they were apart. He calls her claim unfair.
“I’d rather divorce now than face troubles after death,” he said earlier, citing the Daddy Lumba family court drama as a warning.
The musician thanks fans for support since his early days selling music on flash drives. He trusts God to guide him.
The court case is ongoing. No ruling yet.
