Ghana’s Grand Arena inside the Accra International Conference Centre(AICC) in Accra witnessed an unforgettable night filled with vibrant sounds of gospel music at the just ended “Rhythms of Africa” concert organized by Ghanaian based UK renowed Gospel artist Sonnie Badu.

The concert which featured a star-studded lineup from MOG Music, Piesie Esther, Joe Mettle, Nacee, Perez Musik, FRA from Ghana, Neon Adejo and Preye Odede from Nigeria among others saw a spectacular presence of Ghanaians and gospel music lovers.

Sonnie Badu’s left many stunned and others wondering if he was the same individual who was holdling crutches just before his stellar performance he delivered on the night.

In the wake of arising concerns that have been raised by some netizens suggesting that he faked the injury, Sonnie Badu took to his Facebook wall to share a statement expressing gratitude to everyone who attended the concert and announcing plans for a touring journey to personally thank his supporters and fans.

He also addressed the claim that he had staged his injury with the remark, “Did you expect me to perform on crutches? If you did then you don’t know ME … I dealt with the pain like a lion…”

The night also included touching tributes to legendary gospel musicians like Mary Ghansah, Rev. Yawson and Diana Hopeson, honoring their contributions to the genre with plaques of appreciation.
