GNFS Intensifies Fire Safety Education in Asankrangwa Schools

The Asankrangwa Municipal Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), led by DO II Frank Asiamah Yankah, has conducted a comprehensive fire safety education programme for teachers and students of Asankrangwa Methodist Basic School.

The session, held as part of ongoing efforts to build fire awareness in schools and communities, focused on:

Key fire prevention strategies

Proper emergency evacuation procedures

Basic fire management techniques to minimise outbreaks in homes and schools

Students were encouraged to share the knowledge gained with their families and were given emergency contact numbers for quick reporting of incidents: 112 (national emergency line) and 0244360883 (GNFS Western Region direct line).

The initiative reflects the GNFS’s commitment to proactive community engagement and education to reduce fire risks, particularly in educational institutions where children spend significant time.
