Over 47 chefs from different regions presented dishes such as fufu with groundnut soup, tuo zaafi, ampesi with chicken sauce, akple with fetri detsi (okra soup), and ewokple with fetri detsi, among others. International chefs also participated, offering continental dishes like rice with chicken sauce and jollof.

The event, themed “Celebrating Diversity and Nutrition: Roast, Taste and Nourish the Nation,” attracted a diverse audience, including government officials, farmers, chefs, and representatives from various sectors. It highlighted the nutritional benefits and cultural richness of local poultry dishes, emphasizing their role in promoting food security and economic growth.

Organized by the Agrihouse Foundation, the Ghana Poultry Day aims to boost awareness and consumption of locally produced poultry while addressing challenges such as high importation costs and production gaps. Officials at the event, including Deputy Ministers of Agriculture and the 2023 Best Farmer, underscored the potential for youth employment and entrepreneurship in the poultry industry, urging greater local production to meet national demand and reduce import dependency.
