Ghanaman Nkosoɔ host charges traditional leaders to reject ongoing substandard work on 84-year deathtrap Boadua Bridge
Veteran journalist and the host of 7DS GhTV’s Ghanaman Nkosoɔ Voice love Appiah Kubi, popularly known as WASA International, has urged traditional leaders and commuters in Akyem Boadua at Denkyembour District of the Eastern Region, to reject the ongoing substandard work on the 84-year-old Boadua Bridge.
The bridge, constructed in 1940, is in a deteriorated state, causing fear and panic among residents and commuters. After featuring the bridge’s hazardous condition on his 7DSGh TV morning show, “Ghanaman Nkosoɔ,” in May, the story has empowered the Denkyembour District to temporarily repair the bridge for commuters.
The district engineer, Wonder Kavor, confirmed that the district could only temporarily repair the bridge, not reconstruct it permanently. However, the youths and drivers who use the bridge have demonstrated, demanding a permanent, proper bridge to avoid disasters.
Responding to the temporal repair of the bridge, Appiah Kubi emphasized that leaders should take responsibility for Ghanaians’ welfare and prioritize community development projects. In an interview with Ankobea hene of Boadua, Nana Baffour Annor, Appiah Kubi encouraged traditional leaders in the area to reject the substandard work and take action to prevent potential dangers.
