Ghana Police Arrest “Prophet” Ebo Noah for Spreading Doomsday Flood Panic

Ghanaian authorities have arrested Evans Eshun, a 33-year-old self-proclaimed prophet popularly known as Ebo Noah, for sharing false prophecies online that caused widespread fear and alarm.

He was picked up on December 31, 2025, at his home in Weija-Gbawe, Greater Accra Region, by the Inspector-General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team.

Ebo Noah went viral in 2025 after claiming divine revelations of a catastrophic global flood starting on Christmas Day, December 25. He said it would rain non-stop for three years and “destroy the world,” urging people to repent and even building what he called modern “arks” to save believers.

His videos and posts attracted millions of views, drew visitors to his sites, and sparked real panic—some people reportedly traveled from abroad, donated money, or made drastic preparations.

When December 25 passed without incident, he later claimed God postponed the disaster due to prayers.

Police say his actions violated laws against spreading false information that causes public fear and panic. He remains in custody assisting with investigations—no charges have been announced yet.

This arrest highlights Ghana’s growing crackdown on misinformation, especially dangerous prophecies during festive seasons. Authorities remind everyone to verify information before sharing to avoid unnecessary alarm.
