Accra, Ghana – The Ghanaian government has announced a significant investment in the country’s sports infrastructure, allocating over $2.5 million to upgrade the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE) in Prampram.
Sports Minister Hon. Mustapha Ussif revealed the funds will be used to construct a hotel facility to accommodate Ghana’s national teams during their various assignments.
“In 2022, we utilized $5 million from World Cup prize money to finance our participation in AFCON, and $2.8 million has been allocated to improve GSCE facilities and build the hotel,” Minister Ussif explained.
Key Upgrades:
– Hotel facility with 58 guestrooms
– Ultramodern floodlights installed
– Natural grass pitches and artificial turf
– Multipurpose hall and conference rooms
– Dormitories with 308 capacity
The GSCE upgrade aims to enhance Ghana’s sports infrastructure, providing improved facilities for national teams and reducing logistical challenges.
