Ghana Fire Service Spreads Key Safety Tips in Churches and Communities This Festive Season

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) is stepping up efforts to keep people safe during the holidays and dry harmattan season in the Eastern Region.

Fire officers have been visiting churches and communities with important messages on how to prevent fires and what to do in emergencies.

In Donkorkrom, teams went from church to church, teaching congregations simple ways to avoid fires at home and during celebrations.

The Nsawam fire safety team held a special session for members of the Eastern Region Association of the Deaf. They used sign language and hands-on demonstrations to make sure everyone understood the lessons clearly.

Meanwhile, young people from the Seventh Day Adventist Church toured the Begoro Fire Station. There, they got a close look at how firefighters work, learned safety rules, and saw equipment in action.

These outreach programs, reported on December 30, 2025, are all about building awareness and helping communities stay prepared—especially when dry weather and festive activities like cooking and decorations can spark accidents.

The GNFS hopes these efforts will reduce fire outbreaks and save lives this season.
