GFA Charges Hearts of Oak Assistant Coach Gazale Abdulai Over Alleged Ball Boy Assault

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has charged Hearts of Oak assistant coach Abdulai Gazale for allegedly assaulting a ball boy during their Ghana Premier League match against Medeama SC at TNA Park.
The GFA statement, issued as part of 2025/2026 season updates, accuses Gazale of breaching Article 12(1)(h) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019.
A viral video captured Gazale pursuing the ball boy after an on-field altercation. The youngster claims Gazale slapped him first, prompting a retaliatory strike that sparked the chase.
The referee red-carded Gazale for the incident.
Hearts of Oak suffered a 1-0 defeat, remaining fifth in the standings, while Medeama held onto top spot.
Gazale has until Thursday, January 8, 2026, to submit his written response before proceedings advance.
The case highlights ongoing concerns over player and staff conduct toward match officials and assistants in the league.
