GFA Suspends Competitions to Support 2024 General Elections Participation
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a one-week break for all football competitions, allowing players, officials, and fans to participate in the upcoming national General Elections on December 7, 2024.
According to the GFA’s 2024/25 season calendar, the Ghana Premier League, Access Bank Division One League, Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, and other competitions will pause following this weekend’s matches. The break begins after the conclusion of the MTN FA Cup Round of 64, Matchday 6 of the Women’s Premier League, and all other scheduled games.
Football action will resume on the weekend of Friday, December 13, 2024. This planned break, already factored into the season’s fixtures, underscores the GFA’s commitment to supporting national priorities.
