Gas Explosion Near Larteh Akuapem Methodist Primary School Contained

An unattended fire triggered a gas explosion near the Methodist Primary School at Larteh Akuapem in the Eastern Region, prompting a swift response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
The incident occurred after residents noticed the fire and immediately alerted the Fire Service, which arrived at the scene within minutes.
Firefighters deployed cooling techniques to bring the situation under control and prevent the incident from escalating further.
Following the intervention, the affected area was secured and declared safe after personnel conducted the necessary checks.
No further escalation was reported after the emergency response.
Fire contained at Kwamoso
In a separate incident in the Eastern Region, firefighters also responded to a fire at Kwamoso, where a detached single room being used as a storage facility had caught fire.
The New Juaben North Municipal Fire Station responded to the incident and brought the fire under control within 16 minutes of arrival.
Firefighters subsequently extinguished the blaze completely, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures.
No casualties were reported in either incident.
