Former Salaga South MP Salifu Adam Braimah Passes On

The former Savannah Regional Minister died on Sunday morning, April 12, 2026, at the University of Ghana Medical Centre.

His passing has sent shockwaves across the Savannah Region and beyond, with many mourning the loss of a committed public servant.

Popularly known as “Uncle Sally,” he was a stalwart of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and served as Member of Parliament for Salaga South from 2017 to 2021.

During his tenure, he played a key role in championing development projects in his constituency, including the Bunjai–Salaga road, which is currently under construction.

A seasoned administrator, he previously served as deputy finance manager at Tamale Technical University and as deputy manager in charge of finance and administration at the School for Life.

Born on September 25, 1965, Salifu Adam Braimah was widely respected for his advocacy for education and infrastructure development in the Savannah Region.

Tributes have begun pouring in from colleagues, constituents, and members of the public, many of whom have praised his dedication and impact.

Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
