Former MP Kojo Adu Asare Expresses Interest in Late Daddy Lumba’s Widow

Former Member of Parliament, Kojo Adu Asare, has publicly expressed admiration for Odo Broni, the widow of legendary highlife musician Daddy Lumba, indicating his intention to pursue a meaningful relationship with her after she completes her widowhood rites.
In a candid statement, Mr. Adu Asare described Odo Broni as “an exceptionally beautiful woman,” noting that beyond her physical appearance, he is deeply drawn to her calm, gentle, and composed nature.
“I admire her, especially her calm and gentle nature. I feel drawn to her and would like to pursue a meaningful relationship with her after she completes her widowhood rites,” he said.
Clarifying his intentions, the former MP emphasized that his interest is not driven by the desire to have children together. Instead, he said his focus is on supporting Odo Broni’s family and safeguarding the enduring legacy of the late music icon.
“It’s not about marrying her to have children together; rather, I want to help raise her six children and also preserve Daddy Lumba’s legacy,” Mr. Adu Asare stated.
Daddy Lumba, one of Ghana’s most celebrated musicians, left behind a powerful musical heritage that continues to influence generations of artists and fans across the country and beyond. Since his passing, public attention has remained on his family, particularly on how his legacy will be preserved.
Mr. Adu Asare’s remarks have sparked conversations in public and cultural circles, with some commending his openness and stated commitment to family values, while others have urged restraint and respect for cultural customs surrounding widowhood.
As discussions continue, many have called for sensitivity and privacy for Odo Broni and her children as they navigate life after the loss of a national icon
