Five Arrested in Connection with Armed Robbery at Nkaseim Police Station and Businesses

The Ghana Police Service has arrested five suspects linked to a violent robbery incident that targeted the Nkaseim Police Station, Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company, Kobby Gold Buying Company, and the Asutifi Rural Bank in Nkaseim, Asutifi South District of the Ahafo Region.
The coordinated attack occurred on December 2, 2025, when the assailants mounted roadblocks on the Goaso–Tepa highway and carried out simultaneous assaults on the four locations.
During the operation, the robbers seized two AK-47 rifles from the police station and made away with undisclosed sums of money from the rural bank, GH¢14,000 from the cocoa buying company, and GH¢12,000 from the gold buying firm. One employee of Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company sustained gunshot injuries.
Through sustained intelligence-led operations and forensic investigations, the suspects were arrested as follows:
Mutar Kofi, 35, a commercial tricycle rider, arrested on January 16, 2026 at “Ata ne Ata” near Nkaseim. He admitted his involvement.
Mahamadu Sagio, 45, arrested at Nkaseim.
Shaibu Issah Jallo (alias Jibo), 28, arrested at Chereponi.
Abdul Suleman, 40, arrested at Tanga near Karaga in the Northern Region.
Bukari Sulley (alias Tailor), 25, a trader at Alaba in Kumasi, arrested on January 25, 2026.
Police have intensified efforts to apprehend three remaining suspects: Dauda, Mohammed Ali, and Hoyeefi (believed to be the gang leader), who is suspected of still possessing the stolen rifles and other firearms used in the attack.
The arrested suspects are in custody assisting with investigations and will soon be arraigned before court.
The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing all individuals involved and bringing them to justice, while urging the public to provide credible information that could aid the ongoing operation.
