Fella Makafui Names Kwesi Arthur as Ghana’s Top Rapper

Ghanaian actress and beauty entrepreneur Fella Makafui has stirred widespread debate on social media after publicly naming Kwesi Arthur as her favourite rapper in Ghana.
The 30-year-old YOLO star, who was previously married to award-winning rapper Medikal (Samuel Adu Frimpong), made the revelation in a viral social media post that quickly drew attention from fans and music lovers.
In the post, Fella showered praise on the Tema-based rapper, ranking him above some of Ghana’s biggest hip-hop names, including her ex-husband Medikal and BET Award winner Sarkodie. The comment immediately sparked discussions across online platforms, with netizens analysing both the musical and personal implications of her choice.
The timing of the post further fueled speculation, coming just days after Medikal was seen cooking breakfast for singer Eazzy, a moment many fans interpreted as a sign of a new romantic chapter for the rapper. Although Fella did not mention Medikal directly, some social media users read deeper meaning into her statement.
Supporters of Fella Makafui have defended her view, citing Kwesi Arthur’s consistency, lyrical depth, and global influence as justification for her preference. Others, however, questioned the need for such a public comparison given her past relationship with Medikal.
Kwesi Arthur, who rose to fame with his breakout hit “Grind Day,” has since established himself as one of Ghana’s most influential rappers, earning critical acclaim, international collaborations, and strong representation for Ghana on global music platforms.
