Family of Late Musician Osei Boateng Accuses Adom Kiki of Unauthorised Performance of “Gyata Bruwa”

The family and management of the late musician Osei Boateng have strongly criticised fellow artiste Adom Kiki for allegedly performing his song “Gyata Bruwa” without permission, describing the act as disrespectful to the deceased’s legacy.
In a statement issued by Osei Boateng Music, the family said Adom Kiki took and publicly performed the song without any authorisation or prior engagement with either the family or the official management team.
They further alleged that the artiste has made false claims on radio, insisting he holds a cover licence for the song despite failing to engage the management or complete the required documentation.
The statement described the situation as disrespectful to the legacy of the late musician and confirmed that steps are being taken to stop what they called the unlawful use of the work.
According to the family, their priority is to protect Osei Boateng’s legacy while pursuing justice over the matter.
They also urged the public to disregard any claims of ownership of “Gyata Bruwa” that have not been verified by the rightful parties.
The development has sparked discussions within the Ghanaian music industry about intellectual property rights, respect for deceased artistes’ works, and the proper procedures for covering or performing songs.
No response has been received from Adom Kiki or his management as of now.
