Starlink's Price Increase: A Violation of Nigerian Communications Act
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has unveiled plans to sanction Starlink, Elon Musk’s satellite internet company, for unilaterally increasing its subscription prices in Nigeria without regulatory approval.
The price hike, which saw monthly subscriptions jump from N38,000 to N75,000 and hardware costs rise by 34% from N440,000 to N590,000, was deemed unauthorized by the NCC.
