ELEVEN LANDGUARDS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED BY POLICE FOLLOWING A CLASH AT GOMOA OJOBI
Eleven out of twenty landguards have been arrested by the Ojobi District Police Command in the Gomoa East District.
This occurred after residents of Ojobi reported the illegal grading of two plots of land belonging to the community.
Upon reaching the scene, the police were met with resistance from the suspects. However, the Gomoa Ojobi police were able to overpower them and arrest 11 out of the 24 suspected landguards.
A source revealed that deadly weapons such as guns, bullets, knives, and pepper spray were retrieved from the suspected landguards.
The Abusuapayin of Gomoa Ojobi, Nana Kofi Otabil, praised the Ghana Police Service for their swift intervention and professionalism.
He urged them to intensify patrols in the area and bolster security to help combat the activities of landguards.
