Edem Named Ambassador for CSA’s Safer Digital Ghana Campaign to Boost Cybersecurity Awareness

Cyber Security Authority (CSA) unveiled Ghanaian musician Denning Edem Hotor, popularly known as Edem, as the ambassador for its Safer Digital Ghana Campaign at its Airport City office in Accra. The nationwide initiative aims to promote cybersecurity awareness and foster a resilient digital ecosystem in Ghana, as mandated by the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038).

The campaign targets four key groups—children, the general public, businesses, and government agencies—with tailored topics such as cyberbullying, online scams, phishing, account takeovers, supply chain risks, and insider threats. It seeks to equip Ghanaians with skills to combat cyber threats like misinformation, blackmail, and data breaches while encouraging the reporting of cybercrimes. Campaign messages are translated into local languages to enhance accessibility and will reach various communities, including senior high schools.

CSA Director-General Divine Selase Agbeti emphasized that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility, stating, “Every Ghanaian must take an active role in protecting themselves and their communities online.” He highlighted Edem’s selection due to his influence, authenticity, and appeal to Ghana’s youth and digital-native generation, making him an ideal advocate for the campaign.

Speaking after signing the partnership agreement, Edem underscored the urgency of addressing cybercrime, which threatens both individuals and businesses. “Cybersecurity is a personal duty, societal obligation, and national priority,” he said, pledging his commitment to the campaign’s success. The CSA urged all Ghanaians to participate in creating a safer digital environment through proactive measures and collective action
