Dr Joyce Amma Apeadu-Siaw Urges Regular Replacement of Underwear for Better Personal Hygiene

Health professional Dr Joyce Amma Apeadu-Siaw has advised the public to pay closer attention to the regular replacement of underwear as part of good personal hygiene practices.
Speaking on TV3’s The Afternoon Show, Dr Apeadu-Siaw noted that many people overlook the importance of changing underwear frequently, despite its direct impact on personal health.
“One thing we tend to forget is changing our underwear. You should not be using your underwear for more than six months, or at most a year. All of this helps with personal hygiene,” she stated.
She explained that wearing old or overused underwear can contribute to poor hygiene and increase the risk of infections, emphasizing that proper personal care goes beyond daily bathing.
Dr Apeadu-Siaw’s comments form part of ongoing public health education efforts aimed at encouraging simple lifestyle habits that promote overall well-being.
