Business mogul Dr. Osei Kwame Despite has dismissed fresh allegations circulating on social media following the death of his close friend and highlife legend, Daddy Lumba.
Claims made by a TikToker suggested that Dr. Despite allegedly gave GHS100,000 to Odo Broni and GHS10,000 to Papa Shee to be handed over to Akosua Serwaa, in addition to providing a car for errands. The allegations sparked intense public debate, with some accusing the businessman of taking sides in the family affairs of the late musician.
However, Dr. Despite has firmly rejected these claims, describing them as misleading and illogical. He stressed that it would make no sense for him to support one party against the other in a family matter.
According to him, any financial assistance he may have offered was purely an act of goodwill, rooted in his long-standing friendship with Daddy Lumba, and was meant strictly for the welfare of the late musician’s children.
“I am not behind anyone’s behaviour. I am not supporting Odo Broni or Akosua Serwaa. Whatever I did was for the children and out of respect for my friendship with Lumba,” Dr. Despite stated.
He further urged the public to ignore false social media narratives and allow the bereaved family the space to mourn and resolve their issues peacefully, noting that his actions and intentions have been widely misunderstood and misrepresented.
