Dede Ayew Makes Surprise Move: Signs for Dutch Side NAC Breda on Free Transfer!

Big news for Ghana football fans—former Black Stars captain André “Dede” Ayew has officially joined Dutch Eredivisie club NAC Breda on a free transfer!

The 36-year-old experienced forward, who has been without a club since leaving French side Le Havre in May 2025, signed a deal until the end of the current season. There’s also an option for the club to keep him for another year.

NAC Breda, currently at the bottom of the Dutch top league and fighting to avoid relegation, brought in Ayew for his leadership and goal-scoring ability. He’ll team up with fellow Ghanaians Dennis Odoi and Kamal Sowah at the club.

Ayew said he’s excited about the challenge: “I love tough situations, both for myself and the team. Staying in the Eredivisie is all that matters right now—I’ll do everything to help my teammates.”

The club’s technical director, Peter Maas, added that Ayew’s experience will be key in their survival battle, praising his professionalism and fitness (he’s been training at his family’s Nania FC in Ghana).

In his amazing career so far: over 700 club appearances 187 goals and 61 assists. He’s played for big teams like Marseille, Swansea, West Ham, and Al-Sadd, plus more than 120 caps for Ghana.

This move keeps Ayew in top-level European football and could boost his chances of playing at the 2026 World Cup. At 36, he’s showing no signs of slowing down—pure inspiration!
