Daniel-Kofi Kyereh Joins VfL Osnabrück on Free Transfer from Freiburg

Ghanaian-German attacking midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has joined VfL Osnabrück from Bundesliga side SC Freiburg on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old completed his move to Osnabrück on 10 August 2026, making the switch from Germany’s top flight to the 2. Bundesliga as he looks to bring his experience and attacking qualities to the club’s midfield.

Kyereh, who was born in Accra, Ghana, holds both Ghanaian and German nationality. The right-footed midfielder primarily operates as an attacking midfielder and is capable of playing in central areas behind the forwards.

The move gives VfL Osnabrück an experienced addition to their squad as they compete in Germany’s second tier.

Kyereh arrives at the club following his spell with SC Freiburg, where he gained experience at Bundesliga level. His career in German football has also included a period with SV Wehen Wiesbaden.

During his time with Wehen Wiesbaden, Kyereh helped the club win the Hessen Cup in the 2018-19 season.

Before establishing himself in senior football, he also enjoyed success at youth level. Kyereh was part of the VfL Wolfsburg Under-19 team that won the German Under-19 Bundesliga North/North-east championship during the 2013-14 season.
