Children Support Fund for 6 August Helicopter Crash Victims Surpasses GHS 10.1 Million and US$20,000

Efforts to provide long-term care and education for the children left behind by the tragic helicopter crash on 6 August 2025 have received overwhelming support, with the dedicated Children Support Fund now exceeding GHS 10.1 million and US$20,000 in donations.
The fund, established to secure the welfare, schooling, and future stability of the victims’ children, has drawn generous contributions from government institutions, private companies, corporate bodies, and hundreds of compassionate individuals across Ghana and the diaspora.
Among the prominent donors are the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of the Interior, and staff members from the Office of the President. As of 7 February 2026, the total stands at GHS 10,150,495.00 and US$20,000.00.
Coordinators of the fund have expressed deep appreciation for the outpouring of solidarity and reaffirmed that every cedi and dollar received will be carefully managed to deliver sustained support — covering school fees, medical needs, psychosocial care, and other essential welfare services for the affected children.
“These contributions are a powerful demonstration of our shared humanity and national resolve to stand by families in their darkest moments,” a statement from the fund’s management noted. “We are profoundly grateful to every contributor and continue to welcome support so these children can grow up with security, opportunity, and hope.”

Donations remain open and can be made through:
- Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited (specific account details available via official fund channels)
- Mobile money platforms (widely publicised numbers and short codes)
The 6 August 2025 crash claimed multiple lives and left several families grieving. The establishment and rapid growth of the Children Support Fund reflect Ghana’s collective commitment to ensuring the next generation is not left to bear the full weight of such tragedy alone.
Officials have urged continued public generosity and vigilance against any fraudulent appeals claiming to collect on behalf of the fund. All legitimate donation channels are being coordinated through verified government and partner institutions.
The fund’s progress will be transparently reported in regular updates to maintain donor confidence and accountability.
