Bole-Bamboi Road Continues to Pose Challenges Despite Ongoing Construction

The Bole-Bamboi Road, a major transport corridor in Northern Ghana, continues to pose challenges for residents and commuters despite ongoing construction works.

The media Community Tracker team visited the corridor to assess the progress of the project and speak to residents about the difficulties they face.

The road connects communities to markets, schools and healthcare facilities. However, years of poor road conditions have resulted in potholes, dusty stretches, incomplete sections and lengthy travel times.

While construction is ongoing, residents are still awaiting the completion of the project and relief from the challenges associated with the road.

The corridor is also vital to economic activity, with farmers, traders and transport operators relying on it to move people, food, livestock and other goods.

The ongoing works have consequently raised hopes that the project will be completed and improve movement and economic activity in communities along the route.

The Community Tracker is a parliamentary accountability project jointly implemented by Channel One TV and the African Centre for Parliamentary Affairs (ACEPA). The evidence-based initiative documents and assesses development projects across constituencies in Ghana. It also features a database map that identifies and tracks infrastructure projects, making information publicly available and promoting greater accountability.
