Black Queens Crush Russia 4-0 at Pink Ladies Cup, Doris Boaduwaa Stars with Brace

Ghana’s Black Queens continued their impressive run at the 2026 Pink Ladies Cup with a commanding 4-0 victory over Russia on Tuesday, making it two wins from two matches and eight goals scored in the tournament so far.

Doris Boaduwaa was the standout performer, scoring twice and providing an assist in a dominant display that underlined the team’s attacking quality and depth under head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren.

The Danish tactician rang the changes to his starting lineup, handing starts to Alice Kusi, Grace Asantewaa, Stella Nyamekye and Josephine Bonsu — and the fresh legs made an immediate impact.

The breakthrough came in the eighth minute when Boaduwaa turned provider, delivering a perfect cross for Stella Nyamekye to head home and open the scoring. Nine minutes later, Boaduwaa doubled the lead herself with a superb volley after Josephine Bonsu’s header dropped invitingly into her path.

Ghana remained firmly in control throughout the first half. A penalty appeal for a foul on Alice Kusi in the 30th minute was turned down, but the Queens did not let the decision disrupt their rhythm. Three minutes later, Boaduwaa completed her brace, finishing off a swift counterattack with a low drive to make it 3-0 before the interval.

Goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan produced a crucial save in the 59th minute to keep Russia at bay, while Ajegipina struck the post from close range as the visitors pushed for a consolation. Russia had a late effort ruled out for offside.

Substitute Sharon Sampson made her Black Queens debut in the second half, adding fresh energy to the attack. Ajegipina eventually sealed the emphatic win with Ghana’s fourth goal, capping a clinical team performance.

The result strengthens Ghana’s position in the tournament and builds valuable momentum ahead of their final group game. Coach Bjorkegren will be pleased with the squad rotation, the attacking fluency and the clean sheet — all promising signs as the team prepares for bigger challenges later in the year.
