Berekum Chelsea Announces Burial Date for Late Striker Dominic Frimpong

Berekum Chelsea has announced the funeral arrangements for its late striker, Dominic Frimpong, who was tragically killed in a suspected armed attack on the team.
The 22-year-old will be laid to rest on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Assin Dansame, following a wake-keeping ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, April 28 at the Assin Dansame Durbar Grounds. The club confirmed that Frimpong is survived by his parents and nine siblings.
Frimpong lost his life on Sunday while returning with his teammates after a Ghana Premier League match against FC Samartex at Dun’s Park. According to the club, their team bus was ambushed by armed men who blocked the road, forcing players and officials to flee into nearby bushes to escape the attack.
Several members of the team sustained injuries during the incident, while Frimpong was reportedly shot in the head. He was rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through Ghana’s football community, raising concerns over the safety of teams traveling for league matches.
