Bawumia Urges NPP to End Internal Attacks and Target NDC’s Missteps

Speaking at the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Delegates Conference on July 19, 2025, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia called on party members to halt internal attacks and focus on exposing the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) for actions he claims undermine Ghana’s democracy.
Addressing over 5,600 delegates, Bawumia criticized the NPP’s tendency for infighting during leadership contests, which he said provides ammunition for opponents like the NDC.
He urged “kukrudites” to channel their energy into highlighting NDC issues, such as alleged attempts to remove the Chief Justice, plans to target the Electoral Commissioner, and violence during the recent Ablekuma North rerun election on July 11, 2025.
Bawumia called for discipline within the party, vowing to prosecute perpetrators of electoral violence when the NPP regains power in 2029, and urged leadership to enforce unity
