Bawumia Meets Ashanti NPP Executives, Pushes Unity Agenda Ahead of 2028

NPP flagbearer for the 2028 general elections, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged to work closely with the newly elected Ashanti Regional executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the party steps up efforts to rebuild its grassroots structures and strengthen its chances of returning to power.
Dr. Bawumia made the commitment during an engagement with the newly elected regional executives, where discussions centred on party unity, grassroots mobilisation and strategies to improve the NPP’s electoral performance in the Ashanti Region and across the country.
The former Vice President urged the executives to make unity a priority and work to bring all party members and supporters on board.
He stressed that internal disagreements must not be allowed to undermine the party’s preparations for the 2028 general elections, urging the new executives to focus on strengthening the party from the grassroots.
Dr. Bawumia assured the executives of his full support and expressed his determination to work with the party’s structures to position the NPP for victory in 2028.
The newly elected Ashanti Regional executives, on their part, pledged to work towards uniting the party’s grassroots base and strengthening collaboration among members, supporters and organisers across the region.
They also committed to improving the NPP’s electoral fortunes in the Ashanti Region through increased mobilisation and engagement with supporters ahead of the 2028 polls.
The Ashanti Region remains one of the NPP’s traditional strongholds, making effective grassroots mobilisation in the region a key component of the party’s broader national electoral strategy.
The engagement between Dr. Bawumia and the new regional executives is therefore expected to strengthen cooperation between the party’s national leadership and its regional structures as preparations for the 2028 elections gather momentum.
