The new facility is expected to improve the safe and effective disposal of medical waste in the region, contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment.

The newly commissioned medical waste treatment facility in the Upper West Region is expected to create several job opportunities for youths in the region, particularly in the Kperisi community. The facility, which is a combination of recycling and composting, medical waste plant, wastewater treatment plant, research and tourism hub, and waste recovery center, will provide 300 direct and 1,000 indirect jobs locally.

The facility’s General Manager, Ing. Senam Tengey, highlighted the importance of the facility in promoting job creation and development in the region.

Ecosteryl’s West Africa Area Sales Manager, Ms. Sophie Malu, commended Zoomlion’s commitment to creating a healthier and more sustainable future. She emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in environmental protection and highlighted Ecosteryl’s long-standing partnership with Zoomlion.

Ms. Malu praised Zoomlion’s efforts in enhancing the quality of life and fostering an eco-friendly future.

The Upper West Regional Minister, Mr. Stephen Yakubu, expressed gratitude to President Akufo-Addo and Zoomlion for their continued efforts to improve the lives of Ghanaians, particularly in the Upper West Region.
