Ghana could be set for another late change to the Black Stars squad ahead of Thursday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Côte d’Ivoire in Bouaké.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that defender Baba Rahman has withdrawn from the Black Stars squad, just hours after Antoine Semenyo also pulled out of the team.
Rahman was named in Carlos Queiroz’s original 24-man squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia, as well as Ghana’s friendly against Morocco.
Images circulating on the internet showed Baba Rahman appearing to have arrived in camp alongside Jerome Otchere and Alexander Djiku.
However, reports suggest that the left-back may have since pulled out of the squad, although the reason for the reported withdrawal has not yet been established.
The Ghana Football Association has already made several changes to the squad following withdrawals, with nine players reportedly added after Mohammed Kudus, Nathaniel Adjei and Prince Adu Kwabena were confirmed unavailable.
There is currently no official confirmation from the GFA regarding Baba Rahman’s reported withdrawal.
The Black Stars are scheduled to face Côte d’Ivoire in Bouaké on Thursday, September 24, before hosting The Gambia in Accra on September 29. Ghana will then face Morocco in an international friendly on October 4.
