Asante Kotoko to Embark on South African Pre-Season Tour for Optimal Preparation

Asante Kotoko will embark on a pre-season tour of South Africa on August 15th, according to Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM. This initiative, led by the club’s life patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, aims to provide the team with optimal preparation for the upcoming season.

During the tour, the Porcupine Warriors will play a series of friendly matches against local South African clubs. This pre-season stint is designed to build team cohesion and improve fitness levels, ensuring that the players are well-prepared for the challenges ahead.

The tour follows Asante Kotoko’s recent triumph in the Democracy Cup, where they secured victory over their arch-rivals, Hearts of Oak. This win was a significant morale booster for the team, especially after a major squad overhaul that saw the departure of 21 players, including notable figures such as goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim and striker Stephen Mukwala.

Finishing sixth in the Ghana Premier League last season, Asante Kotoko is determined to improve their position. The South African training camp is expected to be crucial in achieving this goal, offering the team a chance to gel and refine their strategies.

Both the club’s management and fans are optimistic that this pre-season tour will lay a strong foundation for a successful campaign in the upcoming season.
