Asante Kotoko Extend Winless Run to Three Matches After Goalless Draw with Bibiani GoldStars

Asante Kotoko’s stuttering start to 2026 continued as they were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Bibiani GoldStars in their Ghana Premier League Matchday 19 fixture at Dun’s Park.

The result means the Porcupines have now gone three matches without a win in the new year following a defeat to Swedru All Blacks and a previous goalless stalemate with Berekum Chelsea further denting their title aspirations.

Despite creating several promising chances, Kotoko were repeatedly denied by an inspired performance from GoldStars goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi.

Among his standout saves were a fine leg stop to thwart Morifing Donzo in the first half, and a brilliant tip-over in the second period to keep out new signing Dogo Yakubu’s looping effort.

The draw leaves Kotoko in third place on 32 points, now eight points behind league leaders Medeama SC, who strengthened their position with a victory over Vision FC on Saturday.

Bibiani GoldStars, meanwhile, climbed to second on 33 points ahead of their upcoming clash with Berekum Chelsea.

Kotoko will look to end their winless streak when they host Basake Holy Stars in their next outing, while GoldStars aim to maintain their strong position in the race for the title.
