Armed Gang’s Daylight Robbery Targets Five Gold Shops in Teleku-Bokazo, Leaving Three Injured

On July 31, 2025, a heavily armed gang of approximately seven men, dressed in black and wielding firearms, carried out a daring daylight robbery in Teleku-Bokazo, Elembelle Municipality, Ghana, targeting five gold-buying shops and a phone shop around 5:30 p.m.
The assailants fired warning shots, ransacked the shops, and fled with an unspecified amount of gold, cash, and dozens of mobile phones, leaving three people injured and the community in panic.
Eyewitnesses described a swift, coordinated attack that has heightened fears among residents, who are now demanding increased security measures.
The Elembelle District Police Command has deployed officers to the scene and launched a manhunt for the suspects, with investigations ongoing to apprehend those responsible.
The incident adds to growing concerns about rising armed robberies in Ghana, with residents urging authorities to bolster safety in the area.
