Appointments Committee to Vet Final Deputy Minister Nominees Today

On Friday, July 25, 2025, Parliament’s Appointments Committee will vet the last group of deputy ministerial nominees appointed by President John Mahama under Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the 1992 Constitution. The four nominees, all current Members of Parliament, are:
Dorcas Affo-Toffey (Jomoro MP) – Deputy Minister of Transport
James Gyakye Quayson (Assin North MP) – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs
Mohammed Adam Sukparu (Sissala West MP) – Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations
Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah (Essikado-Ketan MP) – Deputy Minister of Health
The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, referred the nominations to the Committee on July 17 for vetting. This session concludes the deputy ministerial vetting process under the current administration, with successful nominees set to support their respective sector ministers in advancing government policies.
