Angel Obinim Threatens TikToker Over Comments on Wife Florence’s Appearance

Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder of International God’s Way Church and known as Angel Obinim, has issued a stern spiritual threat against a TikToker for linking his wife Florence Obinim’s changed looks to a troubled marriage.
The controversy stemmed from a comment by user Sweet May on a promotional video Florence posted inviting Ghanaians to the church’s 31st All Night Service. “Herrr Florence Obinim Paa nie what marriage can turn person into,” she wrote, implying the marriage negatively affected Florence’s appearance.
Obinim, visibly upset, screenshotted the remark and warned of divine retribution, accusing the TikToker of maligning their union despite the lavish life he provides Florence.
He defended their marriage, recounting how he elevated her from obscurity: “Before now, where did Ghanaians even know Florence from? I made her popular. When I met her, she wasn’t a singer—I took her to the studio, recorded her first song, paid for TV promotions when I wasn’t even established.”
Obinim noted Florence won an award with that debut track, questioning how such support equates to a “bad marriage.” “If all women had this kind of marriage, wouldn’t they be happy?” he asked.
He urged critics to target Florence constructively without involving him: “When I trended for wrong reasons, no one blamed my wife—treat her the same. Our marriage has nothing to do with it.”
Obinim suggested the backlash might prompt Florence to “realize herself and change,” while insisting detractors avoid dragging him into “her mess.”
The incident has sparked mixed reactions online, with some defending free speech and others cautioning against personal attacks on public figures’ families. No legal action has been reported, but Obinim’s “spiritual dealing” threat has raised eyebrows amid his history of controversial statements.
