Amerado Set to Release New EP “The Price Of Becoming” on August 28

Ghanaian rapper Amerado is set to release his new eight-track EP, The Price Of Becoming, on August 28, 2026, a project that reflects on the sacrifices, setbacks, growth and lessons that have shaped his journey as an artist.
The EP explores the realities behind personal and professional growth, from difficult choices and pressure to moments of success that are often accompanied by sacrifices that remain unseen.
For Amerado, becoming is not simply about reaching a destination. It is about the experiences along the way and how those experiences shape the person and artist he continues to become.
The project opens with its title track, The Price Of Becoming (Mpaebor), produced by IzJoe Beatz. The song sets the tone for the EP, introducing the central theme and offering an insight into the mindset behind the project.
Amerado then moves between Highlife and Afrobeats on songs including Sika Mframa, Chacha, Obiaa Nte Mase, Fountain, featuring Nigerian artist Skales, and Keteke.
The songs highlight his ability to work across contemporary sounds while maintaining links to the Ghanaian musical traditions that have influenced his career.
The rapper also returns to his lyrical roots on Return Of The Lunatic 2, produced by ItzCJ Madeit. The track is a straight rap record that puts his technical ability and lyricism at the centre of the project.
The EP ends with Pharaoh Remix, featuring Epixode and Ras Kuuku and produced by Shawerz Ebiem. The reggae record provides a different musical texture while bringing together three artists associated with Ghana’s reggae and dancehall scene.
The project features production from several established Ghanaian producers, including IzJoe Beatz, MOG Beatz, ItzCJ Madeit and Shawerz Ebiem.
The collaboration with Skales on Fountain also gives the EP a cross-border element, adding a Nigerian voice to a project rooted largely in Amerado’s Ghanaian musical identity.
Across its eight tracks, The Price Of Becoming moves through Highlife, Afrobeats, rap and reggae while keeping Amerado’s experiences and artistic identity at its centre.
The EP is ultimately a reflection on his evolution and the road that has brought him to this point.
Rather than presenting success as a straightforward journey, Amerado uses the project to acknowledge the cost of growth and the sacrifices that come with moving from one stage of life and career to another.
With The Price Of Becoming, he is inviting listeners not only to hear the music but also to consider the experiences behind it and the journey that continues to shape the artist he is becoming.
