Allegations Against EC Chair Fall Short of Removal Threshold – Ayikoi Oto speaks
Former Attorney General Ayikoi Otoo has shared his thoughts on the petition seeking the removal of Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson Jean Mensa and her deputies, stating that the allegations against them don’t meet the threshold for removal.
According to Otoo, the claims against the EC leadership are not strong enough to warrant their dismissal, and it’s essential to distinguish between personal opinions expressed before assuming office and their official conduct while in office.
He also pointed out that some of the claims against the EC officials stem from statements or actions they made before taking office, which should not be used to judge their fitness for office.
