Alfred Ababio Kumi (Adenta Kumi) Declares Bid for NPP National Youth Organiser

A prominent youth leader in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alfred Ababio Kumi — widely known as Adenta Kumi has officially announced his intention to contest for the position of National Youth Organiser ahead of the party’s upcoming internal elections.

In a passionate declaration shared with party members and supporters, Kumi stressed that the future survival and electoral success of the NPP will depend heavily on rebuilding strong, meaningful connections with Ghana’s youth  particularly after what he described as a “bit dull” performance in the 2024 general election.

“The outcome of the 2028 election will largely hinge on how effectively we mobilise and empower the youth,” Kumi said. “We must close the communication gaps that weakened our message and restore confidence among young people who are the backbone of this party.”

Reflecting on the 2024 campaign, Kumi acknowledged that the NPP struggled with narrative control and youth engagement. He pledged to bring fresh, innovative strategies that prioritise research-driven programmes, job creation, opportunity tracking, and digital mobilisation.

Key Pillars of Kumi’s Vision

Establishment of a robust youth secretariat anchored on research, entrepreneurship, and real-time opportunity mapping for young party members

Nationwide Youth Corps programme focused on skills development, structured political participation, and leadership training

Development of a digital youth mobilisation app to promote party programmes, share achievements, coordinate grassroots activism, and improve communication between national leadership and the base

Logistical support for regional and constituency youth organisers, including provision of vehicles or motorbikes to enhance mobility and operational efficiency

Kumi framed his bid as “a mission to revive the party” and called on young patriots across all branches and constituencies to rally behind what he termed a renewal agenda.

“I am not seeking this position for personal gain — I am offering myself as a servant to help rebuild trust, energise our youth wing, and position the NPP strongly for 2028 and beyond,” he declared.

The announcement has already generated significant buzz within NPP youth circles, with many young activists welcoming Kumi’s emphasis on innovation, digital tools, and tangible support for grassroots organisers. His campaign is expected to focus heavily on reconnecting with the party’s younger base, which played a decisive role in previous NPP victories.

The NPP’s National Youth Wing elections are anticipated later in 2026, with several other aspirants likely to emerge in the coming weeks. Adenta Kumi’s entry signals early positioning and a clear message: the party must prioritise youth energy, modern communication, and opportunity creation if it hopes to reclaim power in the next general election.
