Ahome Nsia Service Band Show Returns to Anyaa Market This Sunday: Security Bands from Police, Fire, Prisons, and Army to Perform Through December

The vibrant Ahome Nsia Service Band Show, a beloved staple of Ghanaian entertainment featuring live performances by various security service bands, is set to light up Anyaa Market this Sunday, October 26, and continue monthly through December 2025.

This free community event, known for its high-energy brass bands and cultural flair, will spotlight the Ghana Police Service Band, Ghana Fire Service Band (Alpha Flames), Ghana Prisons Service Band, and Ghana Army Band, promising a fusion of military precision with infectious rhythms that celebrate Ghana’s musical heritage.

Organized by 7DSGH TV and local partners, the series has been a hit since its inception, drawing crowds to markets for interactive shows that blend traditional highlife, Afrobeat, and contemporary tunes. Past editions, like the July 2023 Alpha Flames performance and the December 2023 finale, have featured viral moments on YouTube, with videos racking up thousands of views for their lively crowd engagement and family-friendly vibe.

“It’s more than music—it’s a platform for unity and showcasing our security heroes’ talents,” said event coordinator Kojo Mensah, echoing the show’s role in boosting market footfall and community spirit in the Ga South Municipality.
Anyaa Market, a bustling hub in Greater Accra’s Awoshie suburb near the Nima and Gbawe areas, provides the perfect backdrop with its open spaces and vibrant trader scene—think fresh produce stalls, textiles, and street food aromas mingling with brass blasts. Expect performances starting at 2:00 p.m., running till dusk, with free entry encouraging families, youth, and market-goers to join. The lineup through December includes themed nights:
Police Band on October 26 for “Discipline in Rhythm,” Fire Service in November for “Heroes’ Harmony,” Prisons in early December for “Redemption Beats,” and Army closing the year with a grand finale.
This resurgence follows a brief hiatus, aligning with the Mahama administration’s push for cultural events to foster social cohesion amid economic recovery. Safety measures include on-site security and health protocols, with organizers urging attendees to arrive early to snag spots.
