Ahafo NPP Delegates Firm on Choices Ahead of January 31 Flagbearership Election

Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ahafo Region have declared that they have already made up their minds ahead of the party’s flagbearership election scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.

In an interview with Adom News, the delegates indicated that they have firmly decided on the candidates they intend to vote for, stressing that no individual or development is likely to sway their choices at this stage.

They affirmed that they will turn out in large numbers on election day to select the best candidate among the five aspirants to lead the party in its bid to wrestle power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2028 general elections.

The delegates also expressed strong confidence that the flagbearership contest in the Ahafo Region will be free, fair, transparent, and peaceful, noting that a smooth process will help strengthen unity within the party after the polls.

“We have already made our decisions. No amount of last-minute lobbying or promises will change our minds now. We are going to vote for the person we believe can lead the NPP to victory in 2028,” one delegate said.

Another added: “The most important thing is that the process remains peaceful and credible. We want to come out of this election united and stronger as a region and as a party.”

The Ahafo Region has emerged as one of the key battlegrounds in the NPP’s flagbearership race, with delegates expected to play a decisive role in determining the party’s direction ahead of the next national contest.

The NPP leadership has repeatedly appealed for calm, discipline, and unity throughout the campaign and voting process, urging all stakeholders to respect the outcome and work together for the party’s success in 2028.
